The daughters here in Chiang Khong are learning how to set up their own small enterprise – connecting with the whole world, and doing everything themselves under my counsel. The girls are learning about budgeting, opening a bank account and managing the finances. Chiang Khong. At the Sunflower House shelter, there are now 14 young girls from various ethnic minority "hill tribe" groups in Thailand (Hmong, Akha, Lahu, Khmu and ethnic Lao). The girls are referred here because they are at risk of human trafficking or other forms of exploitation, due to a statelessness, poverty, HIV/Aids, drug and alcohol abuse, ill, absent or deceased care-givers.
